Strawberry Sparklers

Serves 6 | Serving Size: 3-4 strawberries per serving

Serve these fun strawberries for a snack or dessert.
Ingredients:

1 pound fresh large strawberries
1 cup light cream cheese
2 tablespoons each: pistachios, almonds, dried pineapple, dried cranberries, chopped chocolate chips
Directions:
Wash strawberries under cold, running water to remove any excess dirt. Pat them very dry with paper towels.

Place cream cheese in small glass bowl, cover and microwave until soft and warm, about 30 seconds. Stir well.

Place chopped items in small bowls.

Dip strawberries in cream cheese, then in one of the chopped mixtures. Place them on a small plate, then refrigerate to firm up the cream cheese.

Serve chilled.

You will have 1/2 cup of cream cheese left over; reserve it for another use. Reserve sprinkle items for more desserts - they make great garnishes.
Chef's Tips:
The leftover cream cheese makes a great fruit sandwich spread. Thinly slice a few pieces of fruit and layer the slices between two pieces of bread that have been spread with the cream cheese mixture.
