Dried Plum "Chocolate" Truffles

This is a great dessert recipe for a large get-together or for your next dessert.

  • food processor
  • mixing bowl
  • kitchen spoon
  • ice cream scooop
  • 1 cup pitted prunes
  • 1/4 cup pitted whole dates
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar
  1. In the work bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade, combine prunes, dates, pecans, and orange zest. Process until finely chopped. Shape mixture into small balls. Roll in cocoa/sugar mixture to coat.
  2. Store airtight for up to 2 weeks.
  3. Makes 24 truffles.

We recommend serving these with coffee or tea as an after-dinner treat.
