Here is a delicious family burger meal that follows the MyPlate configuration with 5 food groups. Add a glass of milk to round it out.

Ingredients

  • 4 lean burger patties
  • 4 small buns
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, cut into French Fries
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves, rinsed and patted dry
  • 2 tomatoes sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • ketchup
  • 3 cups sliced melon (watermelon and canteloupe)

Instructions

  1. Cook or grill the burger patties to medium-well and prep all ingredients.
  2. Air-fry the sweet potato fries in an air fryer or 425 degree (F) oven until they are crispy, about 25 minutes. You can spray them with a little oil first if desired.
  3. Assemble the burgers by placing the burger patties on the bun with the lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and onion.
  4. Serve the burgers with the fruit strips and the air-fryed sweet potatoes
