15 Things You Can Do with a Box of Clementines
Did you know that clementines are a variety of mandarin orange? They're rather tiny, quite easy to peel, and even the segments come apart smoothly. When these tasty winter fruits are in season, they are a great deal when purchased by the box. You can usually get around 25-30 of these little fruits for anywhere between $3.99 to $7.99 per box. That's about .25 cents each, which is less than the price of a candy bar! One clementine has just 35 calories and it contains 60% of your daily supply of vitamin C. It is every bit as filling as a handful of chips, which ring in at 140 calories, or candy bars, which generally have 200-300 calories!

Winter Fruit Plate
On my latest trip to a Vietnamese market, I picked up a dragon fruit. What a neat food! The color is bright fuschia on the outside with white, kiwi-like seeds on the inside. It's a little sour, so it's better to mix dragonfruit with sweeter fruit in a salad as a fun complement. Here's one great way to use this versatile fruit!
Citrus 101
What do you know about citrus? What do your clients know? Today I want to offer a closer look at the basics of citrus -- what types of citrus fruits there are, what nutrients they contain, what impact on health they can have, and ways to incorporate them into a healthful eating pattern. There's even a new handout, if you know where to look!
