Why is high blood pressure bad for you?
High blood pressure is one of the most modifiable cardiac disease risk factors. Research has shown that having high blood pressure can result in more heart attacks, stroke, and dementia.
By keeping your blood pressure in the normal range, you can be assured of having better health as you age. It is a good idea to monitor and document your blood pressure over time and talk to your doctor about the results.
Prevalence: over 46% of all adults have hypertension and up to 90% are at risk for this condition at some point in their life.

Adults with SBP and DBP in 2 categories should be designated to the higher BP category
