Dress the Part
Mabel Coleman,MS, RD,LD dresses the part. “In my presentation to senior citizens on 5 a day, I glued a lot of artificial fruits and vegetables around a big straw hat and wore it!
Karen Jircitano, RD, made a fun grape costume by securing purple plastic plates with hot glue to a triangular piece of cardboard. She tied a ribbon through the top edge to form a loop big enough to slip over her head. Karen bought green pipe cleaners and fashioned a couple of tendrils to scatter here and there. One plate was used for the "hat" with some tendrils and green netting for leaves. It's the hat that makes the outfit--everyone says so! This is especially popular with kids.
